U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS - Following Tuesday's official announcement by Governor Albert Bryan Jr. and Lt. Governor Tregenza A. Roach that they are seeking a second term in office, the Democratic Governors Association (DGA) issued a ringing endorsement supporting the reelection of the Bryan Roach Administration.

DGA Executive Director Noam Lee released the following statement on Wednesday, May 11, regarding Governor Bryan and Lt. Governor Roach's 2022 reelection campaign announcement:

"Governor Albert Bryan Jr. has been a strong, innovative leader getting the U.S. Virgin Islands through the COVID pandemic and back on track. He saved the pension system from collapse, paid government employees back the 8% deducted by a former governor, paid back taxes as far back as 2016, led the Caribbean in opening doors for tourism, and was the first place in the United States to open vaccines to all," Executive Director Lee said. "Governor Bryan is leading an initiative to put free 5 Mbps internet in every popular public space, beach, housing community, library, and school. These tenets embody his 'Together! Stronger Than Ever' campaign movement. The DGA is excited to help reelect Governor Bryan as he continues to deliver sweeping change for the U.S. Virgin Islands."

The Democratic Governors Association (DGA) is an independent voluntary political organization organized to support Democratic governors and candidates across the nation and supports governors in 22 states and three U.S. territories, as well as the mayor in Washington, D.C. The DGA also helps governors lead their states and serves as a clearinghouse of best practices to help governors and their staffs share their policy successes and learn from each other.

The Bryan-Roach Administration is investing in the Territory's people, infrastructure and future through transparency, stabilizing the economy, restoring trust in the government and ensuring that recovery projects are completed as quickly as possible. Visit
